The Importance of Sustainability in Fashion

“The clothing industry is the second largest polluter in the world … second only to oil,” the recipient of an environmental award told a stunned Manhattan audience earlier this year. “It’s a really nasty business … it’s a mess.” Glynis Sweeny

When it comes to our business, the environment is considered in every step of the process and every component of the bra. We proudly use organic fabrics, and even the elastic we use in our straps is a natural rubber cased in cotton. The labels are 100% cotton as well, so will break down with the rest of the fabrics. We’ve opted for metal wires in our cups as they are less harmful than plastic ones, which would take 400 years to decompose in landfill. Our packaging is mindful too, with all our swing tags, tissue paper and postage boxes having been made from recycled materials and they happen to be recyclable too. We love the idea of nurturing this closed loop system over making new waste.

Our earth and its resources are pretty limited. The rise in demand for fast fashion cannot be met by such a finite and fragile supply.
